Why do we Love Bay Cove?
By Paula H.
There are about as many answers as there are residents in Bay Cove. I’ll start with why I have enjoyed living here so much for the last 30 years.
Initially, I was drawn to the lake, all the trees, and lots of open space with fresh air around the lake. Even though I don’t fish, it’s fun for me to watch people fishing from boats, the shoreline, or the causeway. The herons, egrets, and other birds certainly enjoy their fishing too.
The design layout of the houses was also a big plus for me. The large triple casement windows bring in lots of light. The patio, and in many houses, the patio plus balcony make for enjoyable outdoor entertaining or just relaxing. No one should complain about having two bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and en suite bathrooms! Most houses here have more plumbing that our grandparents could have ever dreamed.
How many community pools have a beautiful lake view? Bay Cove does! The open spaces around the lake and the pool deck make great gathering spots for parties or community-wide events. The social interaction with neighbors can be easily organized in various open areas.
Another plus has been that I have felt very secure in locking my door and leaving on long business trips.
Being a member of a community committee is a great way to get to know other homeowners from different areas of the neighborhood. It’s great when multiple heads come together to further improvements in Bay Cove. And it’s also a lot of fun!
When I moved here we did not yet have the fabulous shopping and dining options in the Short Pump area. Now I’m only a few minutes from almost everything! If I need to go east to downtown or the beach, or west to the mountains, interstate 64 is only a very few minutes away. What could be better?
